The first model we like to introduce is Dock 190, which comes with the full name of “USB-C Universal DV4K Docking Station with 100W Power,” as the heading already suggests. This docking station contains two display ports (DP 1.2) and two HDMI ports (HDMI 2.0) which support either two video outputs with 4K Ultra High-Definition quality or a single video output in 5K quality.

Dock 190 also includes one USB 3.2 Gen one Type-C port, four USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A ports (one of which comes with fast charging), one Gigabit Ethernet port, and one 3.5mm jack for audio in and audio out (works with headphones, earphones, speakers, microphones, and more). Furthermore, you can find a 1-meter USB-C detachable host cable (C/M to C/M) and a USB-C to USB-A host adapter in the Dock 190 box as well.

All of these technical details conclude that using this Targus docking station, you can extend your laptop or PC screen to up to two more 4K screens regardless of whether your device connects to the dock through a USB-A or USB-C port. Additionally, Thunderbolt 3 and other DisplayPort Alt Modes are also compatible with this universal docking station, making it possible for this device to work with both Windows PC and macOS. So, you will never have compatibility problems or struggle with connection complexities. Moreover, the elegant design and the black color of this Targus docking station means that it can easily blend in any modern workspace!

Dock 190 features Universal Power Delivery (which can charge up your devices regardless of whether they use USB-A, USB-C, or etc.) to 100W for USB-C devices and 90W for USB-A (suitable for legacy devices’ power charging). In terms of security, Dock 190 has an integrated Kensington lock slot, providing a standard security lock to safeguard the docking station.

This Targus docking station is also compatible with the Targus VESA Mount, which makes it possible for you to mount your docking station on the back of your monitor. The mount is not included in the box, so you have to purchase it separately if you wish to use it. Last but not least, like most Targus products, Dock 190 comes with three years of limited warranty.

The second Targus docking station we want to introduce in this article is the USB-C Universal DV4K Docking Station with Power (Dock 180), which provides dual display support at 4K UHD and 60 frames per second with its two DisplayPorts and two HDMI ports. In addition to that, you have the option to use only one of the DisplayPorts and benefit from 5K display quality.

Regarding the number of ports, this model is for the most part similar to Dock 190; it contains four USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A ports (one of which supports fast charging), one USB 3.2 Gen. 1 Type-C device port, one Gigabit Ethernet port, and a 3.5mm audio jack. A 1-meter USB-C to USB-C host cable and USB-C to USB-A host adapter are also included with this model. Dock 180 works with both Windows PC and macOS and is compatible with Thunderbolt 3 and other DisplayPort Alt Modes. This model also features the same amount of security with an integrated lock slot as Targus Dock 190.

The key difference between this Targus docking station and Dock 190 is that it has Power Delivery 2.0 with up to 60W charging rather than 100/90W charging. Moreover, it has an ergonomic, slanted design and features passive cooling, which makes it a perfect docking station for laptops. Those who work a lot with their laptop will not go wrong with this model. Apart from laptops, this docking station is compatible with the majority of Android tablets as well. It is also worth mentioning that Dock 180 has three years of limited warranty as well.
